John continues to see how the devil will wage war as the second beast, a false prophet emerges. Some will identify with the beast (take the “mark”) and follow him—choosing death; others will follow Christ and choose life. As in all things, believers show their allegiance to only one by standing firm, hanging together, and keeping the main things the main things.
