Fred and Carole

Meet Fred and Carole, the faithful leaders of Young at Heart. They grew up in Chicago and met in the youth group at Midwest Bible Church. Fred and Carole have been married for 59 years and have 3 married daughters and 7 grandchildren. They have been living in Del Webb, Huntley for the last 18 years.

Both Fred and Carole are retired and are loving it. They say that every week has 6 Saturdays and a Sunday, what could be better? During the week you might find Fred playing pickleball and Carole crocheting or reading a good book.

They had the opportunity to serve as houseparents for over three years at a Christian Children’s Home in Chicago. There, they were able to impact the lives of 23 children. Fred and Carole truly live out the love that Jesus has for His children!

Fred and Carole love connecting with the seniors at Fox Valley Church and seeing them connect with one another. Most are in Life Groups and many are serving in various ministries. Though they may be retired from work, they will never be retired from serving the Lord. In this, they are striving to reflect their key verse, Psalms 71:18, which says, “even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, O God, till I declare your power to the next generation, your might to all who are to come.”
